Bell Schedule

Master Schedule

Teachers begin duty 7:15 a.m. (if on morning duty) or 7:30
Instructional day begins 7:45 a.m. with LGI (K-2 in school library, 3-8 in gym)
Lunch & Recess/Break begins at 11:00 a.m.
Car riders are dismissed beginning at 3:08 p.m. (K-2), 3:10 (3-5), 3:12 (6-8)
Walkers are dismissed at approximately 3:25 p.m.
First Bus riders are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. 
Second Bus riders are dismissed at 3:20 p.m.

School Day

The building is opened each morning for students at 7:15 A.M. The first buses should arrive around 7:15 a.m. at school and all students will go directly to the cafeteria for breakfast. Students who walk or parents who drive to school should not arrive at school before 7:15. Students arriving 7:15 A.M. or later will go to breakfast in the cafeteria. Students and staff will assemble regularly each morning at 7:45 A.M. where we will celebrate our lives---star students, awards, birthdays, attendance, talents, and patriotism. Students in grades K-2 will assemble in the library, and students in grade 3-8 will assemble in the gym.  Upon dismissal from Large Group Instruction (LGI), students will go to their classrooms. While the class begins their work, the teacher may begin checking roll, make special announcements, and other matters the teacher deems necessary.

Arrival Procedures

Car Loading and Unloading: Your cooperation adhering to safe loading procedures is important for the safety of all students. The student car loading is located in the circular area off the gravel back parking lot. The traffic flow for cars is to enter through Barbour Street Park Entrance and Exit by the Barbour Street School Exit.  No parking on pavement.  Parking in this area is restricted to the gravel lot. 
Bus Loading and Unloading: Buses are loaded and unloaded in the bus lanes in the front of the gym off Broadway.
Student Bus Duty Areas/Supervision: Morning student supervision is available after 7:15 a.m. Upon arrival at schools, students are to go directly to the cafeteria; after approximately 15-20 minutes for breakfast students will move to designated are for LGI.

Dismissal Procedures

 Car Riders:
Kindergarten through second grade car riders will be dismissed first at 3:08 and will be escorted to the car loading zone by school personnel. Next 3rd-5th grade students will be dismissed to the car loading zone at 3:12 p.m.  6th– 8th will be dismissed last at 3:10.  School personnel will escort students to cars.

Walkers 3:25 p.m.
All student walkers will be dismissed at approximately 3:25 from the front lobby. Primary students will be escorted to the front doors by school personnel. Parents/Guardian should be available to walk with children home.

Bus Riders:  1st bus riders will be escorted to the bus loading zone by school personnel to load the bus at 3:00 p.m.  2nd bus riders will be escorted by homeroom teachers to load the bus at 3:20 p.m.

Student Dismissal Transportation Changes: Dismissal transportation changes should be made at home prior to the beginning of the school day and a note sent to the teacher. Changes called into the office should be reserved for emergency and unexpected reasons only. In the event that it is necessary to make changes during the school day, we ask that such calls be made prior to 12:00 p.m. when possible. Students riding another bus home or going home with another student are required to bring a note from their parent or guardian. Upon receipt and approval from the office, a bus pass will be issued for the student to ride the bus or be dropped off at non-routine destination. These procedures are in place for the safety of our students.

Check-In & Check-Out Procedures

Check-Out/Check-In Procedures:
For the safety of our students only persons designated on the student's emergency list are allowed to check students out. All student checkouts are through the office. The check-out log must be signed by the person checking the student out and include the name of the student, date, time, reason for dismissal. The student will be called to the office by school personnel. Students checked out prior to the official dismissal time will receive either an excused or unexcused tardy depending on the reason for early dismissal. Any unauthorized pickup will result in a call to legal authorities.  For late check-in or returning to school students must sign in on the check-in log in the office and have a written parent excuse in order for the tardy to be excused.

All school doors are locked at 7:45 a.m.  Students are considered tardy at this time.  Students are counted tardy for any time missed up to 34% of the day. Time missed beyond 34% of the day shall count as half-day absence. Excessive tardies can result in Webster County Cody of Acceptable Behavior action and/or truancy procedures. Please refer to the attendance policy in Webster County Code of Acceptable Behavior for additional information. A written parent excuse must be turned in at the office in order to be excused.
